Since taking her seat on the County Council in 2015, Jessica Fitzwater has voted to increase property taxes every year. In 2021 and 2022, she opposed the constant yield even when the county had an over $120 million surplus. She voted to support state legislation that would eliminate the county from having to notify residents that they are raising property taxes (September 28, 2021 Council Minutes[1] / County Legislative Package, pg. 27)[2]
